An Interview With Rowan Dream
By: Hermionie Miranda, Hufflepuff

Second year lion, Rowan Dream, recently appointed Spice Squad co-captain, has agreed to be interviewed due to her awesome Gryffindoriness (is that even a word?).

Enjoy!

1. So when did you become the Spice Squad's co-captain?

Just recently, I guess a week ago. It came as a surprise for me. I was a member of the squad and, suddenly, our co-captain, Adam Malfoy, decided to step down. He came into a p2p with me on IRC and asked how I would feel if I would take over his position. I had mixed feelings, seeing as I like Adam. I was happy and sad; happy because it was what I wanted and sad because it meant that a friend had to step down. Well, seeing as Adam stepped down and Ardeliah agreed, I became the new co-captain of the spices. It got announced at the house meeting to make it official.

2. When did you join the Spice Squad?

Mmm, I guess it was before the summer, sometime in June. I am not sure for it has been a while. It was Ardeliah, though, who convinced me to join the squad. I was a den member of hers and she was one of my den leaders. If people don't know this, the dens are something we Gryffies do to keep order in our house (and, of course, to have some fun activities *giggles*)

I was very active then, still am, and I suppose Liah saw something in me she could use for her squad. And voila, I applied for it, got accepted, and after nearly half a year am I still the pain in the butt spice called Mcdreamyspice now co-captain.

3. What does the Spice Squad do?

We do a lot of things, but I can't tell everything here for Liah will keel me if I do. The Spices still need an air of mystery or nobody will join us; however, I'll try to tell the grand lines.

Basically: We make sure that our house spirit is high so that we can win the house cup. We cheer for people to get points, to sign up for the common room, but the most important task we have is to take care of wonderful GQT. We cheer for them at every match they play and we make sure our players are well taken care off.

That's actually all I can share about this...

4. Anything you can tell us about the lovely captain, Miss Ardeliah Longbottom?

Yes, lots, beware she is evil! No, just kidding. Liah is one the most amazing Gryffindors I have met and I am glad I've had the chance to meet her and know her. She is kind hearted and very patient. She is a good captain to both Glib (the Gryff Library) and the spice squad. I don't know how she does it, but she does it all: prefect, gets points like mad, takes care of her family, and do her work. I can only respect her as I do for so many HOL'ers out there! In short, Liah divines amazing and I think HOL will be a bit darker without our eh?! Canadian.

5. You won the title Miss Congeniality in the Miss HOL competition, right? How does having this title make you feel?

Yes, I did win that title. I still can't thank Addie and her judges enough for that, seeing as I quit the competition in the third round, due to personal reasons. I still think there were other people who deserved it more then me. I got it, though, so I guess it must mean I deserve it. I was extremely happy. Silly, for it is just an award, but that award meant a lot more to me than most can imagine.

The funny part was that the award was in the colour I like a lot and that made me even happier. I was pleased to put it short. The best thing however was that is was passed to me in quietness. Yes, I got my congrats for it, but I wasn't bothered about it that much. Unlike Ronja who got honoured in our very own Owl Post with her Miss HOL and Miss Gryff title!

6. Is there anyone that if you never met HOL wouldn't be as great?

Yes, there are several people and I just hope I don't forget anybody. They are the best bunch of people you can imagine and we have tons of fun around HOL. They are the folks I talk the most to and I am afraid I might dishonour one of them by forgetting to mention their name, so I'll stick to one group name MY PPC BUDDIES all of them.

7. What is one moment you had in HOL that you always want to remember?

Ohhh, there are so many events I would like to remember: the first time I got to HOL, got sorted into Gryffindor and found my way to the chat, the fact I met so many wonderful people in both HOL and my house. The time I got to the PPC (waves to her ppc buddies, you know who you are). The day I got promoted to PPC assistant. The day I painted Basil (silly beast). Pestering Miette in the hamster game... I think, so far, HOL has brought me good memories and all of them I'd like to keep.

8. Are you an HOL Quidditch fan?

Yes, I love quidditch. The way the channel moves and all the colours. Whoa, I LIKE IT. And it is the only time or place where you can actually spam in a legal way, you got to love those colour full cheer remotes that pop up every two seconds. I don't know it is something special and I love to cheer for my house!

9. Any goals you have for the future? (HOL-wise, please)

Goals plenty, I want to be a prefect during my student career (if am I ever deemed worthy that is) and maybe, one day, a head student. I plan to becoming a student teacher soon, if I can find the time, between my very busy RL, to finish my class. I want to score more then 3000 house points one day and graduate HOL. Eventually, I'll become a Gryff professor, but that is still 5 years or more away!

10. Lastly, any shout-outs you want to make?

It's so simple to win and you know how. All you got to do is say: yes, for yes we can! There's nothing holding you back. Your house needs you to pawn, to earn those pointsies and shoot it to the cup of victory. We either find away or make one.
