DaKeed Exclusive
By: Ronja Liek

It was late one evening when the Paw Print representative made her way through the dark halls of Hogwarts for an interview with no other than Rosa Gullveig. Those that met Rosa during their days at Hogwarts will agree that she is a kind and lovely Ravenclaw Prefect, and excellent teacher, so even meeting her in such dark and lonely circumstances is hardly something to get nervous about…

But those that believe so have forgotten that miss Rosa Gullveig was responsible for a great number of kidnappings earlier this year… and it was not Rosa I interview.. it was her much scarier alter-ego DaKeed Napper….

1. What made you decide to be a kidnapper?
I do not think of it as a decision to become a kidnapper, but rather a decision to act on an urge and desire to create a bit of mayhem. The evil devil that resides on my shoulder kept hinting that I should let my true colours shine… who am I to refuse it?

2. What did you want to achieve by kidnapping, and did you achieve it?
Pfft, my goals and motives are mine to know, and I refuse to share them. Seeing as I still have a few scores to settle, I refuse to divulge them… at least without proper bribing.

3. How did you select your victims, was there some kind of masterplan behind that? I noticed there was a lot of quidditch players and prefects involved.. How did you decide whom to kidnap?
- cackles-
Of course there was a master plan! That being said, I don’t expect a dim-witted individual to understand the complexity of it, so I shall spare you the headache of trying to follow my logic.

4. How hard was it to get the victims on their own?
It was surprisingly easy. A number of my victims were much more asinine than I would have expected, making it easy to lure them into my plot. Seriously, what kind of idiot walks back to their common room, ALONE, in the dark after Quidditch practice? It was an invitation to create some havoc.

5. Did the buddy-system or other methods make it harder to get to the persons on your list? Did you have to abandon on kidnapping one of your targets? Which house would you say was best at protecting their members?
Hahahaha… All those methods only made it MORE fun for me! The idea of using a buddy to protect you, pure rubbish I tell you! By far, the house which implemented the most rules for its students, was Slytherin. The supposed protection methods were a joke, and I enjoyed foiling them even more because of them. What kind of harebrained person would believe that a curfew would curtail my efforts? Pure folly!

6. Did the kidnapees behave well? Anyone called for their mother or cried?
Oh… the tales I could tell you. There was crying, whining, and temper tantrums galore. There was also singing, and dancing from those who were delighted to be taken away. A few others tried bribing me with sweets, or with doing my homework, but I was having too much fun making fun of them to release them. I think I will keep my tales, and maybe I’ll write a book for the library about them.

7. Did you notice a difference in character in the people you kidnapped (where the Hufflepuff more friendly?)
You mean were the Hufflepuff more whiny?

8. How did you feel about the detective agency, did you ever feel threatened by their existence? Did you actively keep them busy elsewhere?
Aye… they were an interesting addition to the process. I loved stringing them along and leaving clues just to mess with their brains. It was so easy to leave a few shiny objects in Cassie’s path, and utterly distract her from her task, let alone how easy it was to distract Addie with a few well placed pretty things and tennis balls. Their presence never threatened me at all, it even made it amusing for me! I not only sent them on a few wild-goose chases, but I also tried playing them one against the other for my pure enjoyment.

9. Did you ever feel remorse, or did you ever feel you made a mistake?
Oh yes… I regret kidnapping a few individuals, -coughmayawinterscoughs-, so early in the process. Their whining and complaining gave me headaches, and the only way I found to pacify them, was to feed them music and tele shows that were filled with crack. If I had to do it again, I would have kept her/them for later on in the process… or at the very least I would have locked her in a soundproof cell. As for remorse, I never felt any… I chose my victims for specific reasons, and they had to pay for their crimes.

10. Where you impressed by the students that found your identities?
I was indeed rather impressed, especially those who correctly identified both of my split personalities. Although, I admit that I was more amused by the various accusations students made, denouncing various innocent people.

11. Now that you are exposed as the kidnapper, do people treat you differently?
Nah… I am very good at hiding. I’ve had offers of people asking me to kidnap them, but I don’t do it to HELP people… they can kidnap themselves if they so wish. Even during the manhunt for my identity, I received an alarming number of offers, rather than threats. People wanting to become my partner, people offering to become my understudy, people suggesting who I should kidnap next. To think I would ever stoop to that level… oh the innocence!

12. Is there anything else you'd like to say?
Nah… not really…. At least not other than the fact that those still on my list might want to sleep with one eye open, just in case.

It is safe to say, I left with an uncomfortable feeling… Rosa and DaKeed seem to be two different people for the kidnapper showed little resemblance to the Ravenclaw… Are they the same person? Or is the Dakeed kidnapping Rosa too, holding her prisoner in her own body?

And what is the meaning of the mysterious official letter we received after the interview saying:

“The questions were answered to the best of DaKeed’s ability. They in no way (at least not in any official way) represent the thoughts and beliefs of one Miss Rosa Gullveig. (except of course for the fact that DaKeed is her ebil alter-ego!)”

Are DaKeed and Rosa the same person? Or aren’t they?

The Paw Print staff will do its best to find out… and when we know...You’ll know.
