So, it's been a while since we did an article on MVP players for Gryffindor Quidditch. Luckily for you, we have a new MVP for the last game against Slytherin. This person is none other than Drew Potter, first year Gryffindor. I cornered Drew right after quidditch practice (being captain makes those things easy), and asked him various questions about his newly acclaimed MVP status.
Seeing as I knew Drew and quite frankly tortured him on a daily basis, I decided to put some humor into the interview. So my first question was, "How does it feel getting your first MVP award? Like, were there neon lights waving around crazily in your head? Was it like the very first time you scored an A on a test?"
He gave a goofy little smile and replied, "It feels great! But I'm more happy about beating Slytherin and paying them back for (almost) beating us back in December. Plus, we got some nice snakeskin boots that would look great with my new dress at our next match!"
Dress? I wondered internally. I had never seen Drew wearing a dress before, but then I thought back to the match and his outfit. "I see," I said. "Did you do anything out of the normal to prepare for this game? You know, spinning around three times while touching your nose?"
"Well...Seven advised me to wear a dress to the match instead of my Quidditch robes, so I stopped botting last night and went out to buy a hawt pink dress. Apparently it worked, because the Slytherin chasers kept collapsing into fits of giggles and dropping the Quaffle before they even crossed midfield!" he replied in a most serious fashion.
I remembered that. He had barely gotten back in time for the game and I yelled at him ruthlessly for nearly giving me a heart attack. Well since it seemed to have worked, I might decide to forgive him sometime soon.
Gearing off that train of thought (seeing as I don't like to think about forgiving people) I proceeded with the next question. "What was your favorite part about this game, other than of course winning?"
He responded, "My favorite (or funniest) part of the game had to be when BaPo and Zee rammed Belle aside (with the ref distracted, of course), and Seven used completely unnecessary lazer technology to try to score a wide open goal, but ended up being blocked by the hoop itself..."
Okay, I seriously did not remember that happening. I must have been restringing my racket during that time, seeing as almost none of the shots were getting anywhere near my goalposts. I made a mental note to have Seven start adjusting his toys, or to go back to the standard 'spike them in the head with your heels' routine.
I glanced at my watch and noted that my favorite Jdrama came on in five minutes and decided to hurry up with the questioning. "Anything you'd like to impart to hopeful future MVPers?"
He grinned with total mischief when he responded, "Hmmm...tying your hands behind your back and using your teeth to type always seems to do the trick. And a blindfold wouldn't hurt. Oh, and don't bother botting or going to practice (even if Missa threatens to keel you), because we all know that never helps."
Now readers, that is a complete and total lie. I don't threaten, I promise instead. So either way, if you don't do what you're supposed to, I will come after you and after many offenses I will keel you. Ded. Yes, Ded. Actually, ignore everything he said, his ego must have inflated due to this brand new popularity. I mean really, doing all the seems kind of implausible. So don't buy it!
I glared at Drew and ended my interview. "Any shout outs you'd like to give that aren't complete and total lies?"
He looked a little scared when answering, which must be why he actually replied normally. "Um...congrats to Jenny for such a quick Snitch catch and being the only one to beat Faye this year! Oh, and Hufflepuff better be ready because we haven't had badger burgers in a while...mmmmm..."
Next game should be sometime at the end of April. We think. Check the announcements and eventually it will show up.
