Welcome again! It seems you've saved your soul...for a little while longer. Well, let's get down to business, with our newest announcements :D
- Our new Head of House -
For all of you who don't know, after a lovely year or service, Professor Blue has decided to step down as Gryffindor Head of House to tackle more important projects. We wish her the best.
But before you frown, let me announce to you our new (well, was new, but hey, we're a little behind, so you might not know anyways :D) HoH, Professor Portsea S. Black! Congratulations Madam Black! We know you'll lead Gryffindor with pride, and towards glory!
- Potions Accident -
Well, you all remember prefect Rob Black right? GQTer, weird guy, wears a kilt. Well, he had a little accident a while back with a bit of aging potion. And it seems we can't reverse it. However, the house has taken this opportunity to make something out of a mess, so I present to you Gryffindor's new deputy head of house, Professor Rob Black! Congrats Orby! We know you'll be able to handle things and keep things running smoothly! Make sure to keep the kilt down! You'll frighten the children :D That’s right folks. Two professor Blacks now. Don't get confused.
- Welcome the Kittens -
Well, it seems we've gone and grown a new den around these parts! All recent registrants (from December 2003) who got into Gryffindor are now part of the Kitten den! And we even have brand new prefects in charge of them! *pats Kitty, Hattie and Vi* So give them all a warm welcome!
- Prefect Dens -
You should really know which den you belong to, in case you ever have a question to pass on! Your den prefect is there to answer your call, but it only works if you know what den you're in. Most people should have received an e-mail if they have only signed up recently, but others (if they don't remember) can find a list in a post by our HoH, Madam Black, in the Gryffindor Common room.
- The Gryffindor Challenge -
Gryffindor's dorms are being reworked, and now all HOLers can get involved. With a new system of money and games, you can soon purchase your own items (books, cauldrons, telescopes) and eventually raise your own pets! So give it a go! It's still in the works, but you can find some info about it here.
- The Winter Wars -
If you've been hiding in your igloo, then you might wanna know that the Winter Wars have commenced in the Prefect dens. This little challenge pits the dens against each other, with snow balls (used for attacking the other dens, of course!) as prizes! So what are you waiting for? Stop by your Prefect den and give them a hand!
- The HOL Challenge -
Sign ups are almost over (at least they will be once this goes into print!) So competitors and their team mates are advised to keep their eyes on the main HOL boards for the tasks to come! Show that HOL spirit! Have some fun! Earn some points (some restrictions may apply, see rules for details)!
- The Orange Contest -
Feeling artistic? Well, then we have just the thing for you! Draw yourself, or your favorite HOL staffer, and you will receive five points per entry! Maximum three entries per student. There will be winners in two categories, with a prize of 30 points to the winner of each category! So what are you waiting for? Break out pencils and crayons and get cracking :D. - Gryffindor Librarians Wanted -
Bookworms take note, the Gryffindor library is currently in need of librarians! Think you have what it takes to hold a spot? Well, all you have to do is follow the instructions here and who knows. You may find yourself stamping out books for the rest of us very soon! ( I have been told to ensure that there are more fun things than stamping out books for the job...)
- GQT games -
The Gryffindor team is playing a whole bunch of games in a row after a long hiatus! They've already defeated Slytherin, so next up, it's the second match of the year against Ravenclaw! Followed immediately (by scheduling standards) with a match up against Hufflepuff! So cheer on those Lions boys and girls! They're 3-0 and eyeing that third cup!
- GQT practices -
Wanna see how things work with the team? It's easy! Just visit #GQT on IRC (irctoo network) every day at around 3:30 am HOL time (10:30 pm EST, 7:30 Pacific...) for practice like you've never known! The faint of heart and the easily offended should beware! Also, children should probably try to avoid adult supervision. They're lewd and crude, but it's all in the name of fun! :D
- Homework -
Yes. Horrid stuff. But it must be done! Remember to keep your eyes out for whatever homework you may have. We still have a chance for the house cup, as long as everyone works at it! I know you can do it folks!
