Without a doubt, March 8, 2003 had one of the most edge of your seat quidditch games ever played. But in the end, thanks to some perseverance by the GQT (Gryffindor Quidditch Team), and some maneuvering by seeker Heather Kinney, they were able to be triumphant. Kinney looks back on her performance that day, saying “I think I did really well. I got over 70% of the trivia questions, I believe. And I [knew the location of] the snitch before Evy was able to get the final clue. Overall, I was very pleased.”
Fans from the game went absolutely berserk when Kinney had found the snitch. But they were even more surprised when she delayed the catching of the golden ball. “The waiting at the end was nerve racking. I knew it was the best thing to do for the team, so I held off on catching the snitch.”
A stunning match was capped in the end with an MVP award going to the Gryffindor seeker, who was very surprised (and flattered) to receive the award. When asked if she thought she deserved the award, she grinned from ear to ear, “I can’t say if I really deserved it more than anyone else. But I do feel I played very well.”
Kinney followed that up with, “If they voted me MVP, they must have had a reason.”
Overall, she seemed very pleased at the game. “From what I can tell, everyone played well, on both teams. I am very proud of my fellow Gryffies. They held their own in the game, that’s for sure!”
Kinney then grinned and winked, “And if I could have stalled longer, I am sure we could have wracked up a few more goals.”
