You have stumbled across something very rare indeed. Welcome to: The Unoffically Official Guide to Earning Points!! I'm your host, Cyn, and today we will be looking at the best way in which to ensure you get the most points possible in your life--each and every day :D

The Basics:

1) If someone tries to tell you that points aren't important, promptly ignore them. The only reason points aren't important to them is because they don't have as many as you.
2) Being a point whore is NOT about sucking up. Keep your standards. Have some self-respect.
3) No labour should go unrewarded--you DESERVE points for the work you do. Remember this, and you shan't go wrong!

Setting Up the Year for Glorious Quantities of Points--What you can do before classes begin

1) You are not to email profs asking to be in the class. However, it is perfectly acceptable to ask questions about their class. For example, "How many points do you offer per month?" "Is there any way whatsoever that you will go inactive this year?" "What can I do to get the most points possible per month?" Etc.
2) Take classes from people you trust. There is something to be said for pulling strings. However, under NO circumstances are you to take advantage of a prof. Using the ability to turn in an assignment late a couple times and waiting until 2 weeks after the deadline for homework EVERY month to turn in an assignment are two completely different situations.
3) I personally find it best to take year-long classes that satisfy my criteria because that way I'm guaranteed to have classes that have prospects.
4) Take five classes. You can't be a point whore unless you actually put forth the effort.
5) Being a point whore does not mean you grab at free points. It means that you will get as many points as you can--and work for them. That being said--take EVERY opportunity you can to get points. This ranges from contests to helping a prof to whatever.
6) Teach a class or two. If you can't, be someone's assistant. Being an assistant might be better--you can earn up to 30 points per month. By teaching a class, you traditionally earn 100 points. Being a minion has its perks.

The School Year:

1) Do every single assignment you can for classes, including extra credit. You should have picked max-point-offering classes by this point, so you're set for the semester. If, for some reason, a class goes inactive, join a new class ASAP. Make sure it sticks to the class guidelines as well.
2) Participate in every contest you can--15 points here and there are worth it :D
3) Be a prefect and/or get your face shown around HOL--this way you are eligible for end-of-the-year-points. Running a contest or two doesn't hurt.
4) If there's a points opportunity--jump at it.

The Student List:

1) Know your standing. Be sure to cover your rear and keep on going ahead. If someone is close behind you, find out what sort of things they're doing, what activities and classes they're up to, and do everything plus some.
2) This is not cutthroat. If someone has more points than you, it's ok (but I don't approve ;) *cough*)
3) Do not, under any circumstances, break any rules in the attempt to gain points. It's not worth it. I do, however, encourage finding loopholes :D

That is all. If I have not sufficiently seen to your whorish needs, please let the staff of Gryffindor know. ;)
